Terrible First Day Back!

Life without you was like a broken pencil - pointless
- Lord Blackadder to Elizabeth I, Blackadder II
Welcome to my Hump of the Week 🐫
Back to work for me :)
Up early to do the Heardles.
60s Heardles:
My answers:
Breakfast and Brew time.
The thermal vest was put on, with lots of layers.
Now to leave the house.
I gives hubby a sloppy wet one 💋 before I left.
On goes my winter coat, gloves and hats.
Goes and gets my newspaper.
The Christmas lights are still on and looking lovely.
Swaps my newspaper for my big stick.
Goes and puts on my lights.
While I was waiting, Traffic lights suddenly appeared and were turned on. I am going to have some fun on the first day back!
Turned on my lights,
Now to start work 🍭
Oh dear, it was chaos!
Two emergency stops, the second one, wound down her window and said "She was hungry for trying not to stop!"
One car drove straight through my raised stick and nearly tapped and cracked the windowscreen.
BOINGs  one after another.
Terrible day to come back to!
I need to get rid of this stress that was building up!
Finished in one piece just about!
I go to Morrisons.
And I started to sing along with the music....
Everyone was looking at me singing along.
I got a Birthday card to a little boy whose Birthday it is tomorrow↓
Back home.
The bed bases were put out for the council to take away.
The coffee machine was put on.
Two council trucks were parked over drive.
They were starting to empty next door.
I did offer if they wanted a drink.
They refused.
I had my coffee.
I started to make tonight's tea with a dose of more singing.
Light lunch time.
As I left the house, one of the workers banged my garden arch with a bed base!
Great.
The other worker, asked me who lived there?
I told him, "My neighbour had passed away a day before the Queen in September, and the son was here until last month."
He said, "One bedroom was emptied, the other two bedrooms were full, and all the other rooms were rammed!"
"Wow," I said.
He reckons "It will take 3 days to clear the house and shed!"
I did tell him about the Greenhouse and the boxes of china in there.
I said "Goodbye," and got into Sexy Beast.
There was no room in the normal car park I use, what with the traffic lights, it took me a bit of time to get to the other car park!
Winter coat, winter hats and winter gloves went on. Turned on my lights, the traffic lights are only letting 3 cars through.
Fetched my big stick and waited for my friends to appear in the square.
We are going to have some fun with the low lying sun again!
My friends came to have a rabbit...
When it was time to start.
I said goodbye to my friends.
Hoping it wasn't going to be a bad one like this morning.
Traffic lights and low lying sun created a right bag of chaos. No traffic was moving as the traffic lights stopped working!
Then the U turns started.
Car drivers still stopping in the Keep Clear space!
I was glad to finish in one piece!
Home time.
Nice cup of brew needed!
Chilled until hubby came home.
He had a sloppy wet one 💋
Time to dish up the grub!
Yum!
Now to look in the today's newspapers.
UK No.1 on this day in 1957:

Pharrell Williams - Happy
US No.1 on this day in 1960:

US No.1 on this day in 1975:

Then I went for a hot shower.

Trying To Keep Moving!

A motorist is a person, after seeing a serious wreck, drives carefully for several blocks - Jane Pickens
Welcome to my Hump of the Week 🐫
Heardle Time.
Heardle 60s:
My answers:
Brew with Breakfast.
Dressed.
Now to get out early....
I gives hubby a sloppy wet one 😘
I have to go the long way round for the time beginning. It doesn't help other car drivers leaving it too late to get in the correct lane!
Finally got to work...
On goes the Winter coat, Summer Hat, and big big sunglasses...
I go and get the newspaper.
Now to fetch my big stick.
A man walked up to me to say sorry for going under my big stick yesterday.
Because of the low lying sun, and no sunglasses he didn't see my big stick in front of him.
I will mark this on the calender as someone saying sorry it is so rare!
I turn on my lights.
Let's see how the morning shift goes...🍭
Lots of cars stopping in the Keep Clear space.
So I have to go behind the car and try to stop the cars on the otherside of the road.
Some cars not even stopping and ignoring my stick!
BOING, BOING and BOING.
The news of two accidents that now have snarled Studley up.
Nothing can come and nothing can leave.
My side of the road was barely moving, and the few cars that was coming up the road, wasn't stopping for me!
More stopping in the Keep Clear space again!
This was going on well after I finished!
I had to go through the back roads, and the really long way home to avoid the jams that was still building.
Instead of the normal 15 mins, it took me 40 mins to get home.
Back home finally!
I put the coffee machine on.
I got my things ready to wear, as I am seeing someone who runs something that gives back to the Community.
Coffee Time.
Empties the recycling.
(Green bin is being emptied tomorrow)
I have a very early liquid lunch...
Just get ready to leave,
Get a text cancelling the meet up!
I then try to fit in writing yesterday's blog post now!
Now to hope I have a better shift than this morning!
Still had to go around the long way.
I got on my winter coat and winter hat.
Turned on my lights.
I grabbed my stick, and went for coffee!
Got chatting to another friend until the friend who I was going for coffee, reminded that time is marching on.
While waiting to give my order.
The Waitress was pouring some wine into a measuring cup, then putting it a wine glass.
I said,"I wouldn't bother with the measuring cup, I would just pour it in the glass!"
She laughed.
I ordered and we sat down and waiting for our coffee and mince pies to arrive.
My other friend arrived to have her mince pie.
Then we went outside for a little bit of rabbit before I started my afternoon shift.
I said "Goodbye" to my friends.
Now to start....
Oh dear, nearly took out a windscreen out in the first ten minutes of starting!
Lots of BOINGs given out to the cars on the otherside of the road.
Even stopping in the Keep Clear space!
The low lying sun is being a pain again!
Was glad to finish in one piece!
Home Time.
Nice cup of brew needed!
Time to use some bits up in the fridge.
Mushrooms, garlic and shallots were chopped up.
Chicken breasts were pan fried.
Then all put in the oven together.
Finished writing yesterday's blog post.
Hubby comes home and has a sloppy wet one 😘
Tea is dished up.
Yum.
Afterwards I looked into today's newspaper.
