Looking Back....!

I was so poor I didn't know where my next husband was coming from - Mae West.
Welcome to my Saturday 🌸
I woke up at 5.30am and needed a brew.
I had a nice brew while waiting for "Sounds of the 60s" to start.
While "Sounds of the 60s" was on.
I got on with writing yesterday's blog post.
UK Top 3 from 1963.
3:
Billy J.Kramer and the Dekotas -
Do You Want To Know A Secret?
2:
Jet Harris & Tony Meehan -
Scarlett O' Hara
1:
The Beatles - From Me to You.
Sleeping Beauty arose from the his pit.
We had brew with breakfast.
Then he and younger son went to do the food shopping for the week.
I put the coffee machine on.
Can't use the washing machine this weekend, so I watered the plants in the garden and fed the birds.
 Coffee time!
A bird came visiting...
Once hubby and son came back.
We unloaded the shopping.
Had a light lunch.
Back out again.
Off to see my parents....
Made sure the cross won't come apart again.
Hubby likes this gravestone so much.
He wants this design for the gravestone for his late dad and his family.
As once his dad's ashes are put into the family plot with the other 5 members of the family.
The gravestone with all 6 names on it and the infamous photo of hubby's dad smiling and with his red tie!
Had chat with my parents.
Tidied up Bill's grave opposite as all the flowers fell down off his grave.
Then off to look around Sainsburys.
Great Private Eye front cover.
I saw an old friend who still is a Postman.
Haven't see a man to do a runner NOT to talk to me for ages....;)
Back home for a much needed BREW!
Puts the faggots in the oven.
Peeled the potatoes.
Peas put in the saucepan.
Quick look in the newspaper.

Faggots with Mash and Peas.
Now to sort through all my late Father-in-law's paperwork.
Some nice photos of hubby's late mum in the  1960's↓
Then we found hubby's parent's wedding album from 1970.
The bridesmaid wearing the bonnet is getting married in August this year.
No Bonnets will be worn!
Nice Christmas family photo.
Sleep tea time↓
Don't the time go quick when you are having fun looking at the old photos...↓

Looking In The Mirror!

There is no such as a little garlic - Arthur Baer
Welcome to my Saturday 👍
I woke up at 5.50am.
I got up and made a brew.
I listened to "The Sounds of the 60s" while writing yesterday's blog post.
Sleeping Beauty woke up and we enjoyed breakfast.
Then to wake up son to drop him off at his work.
Dressed.
It was my hubby's late mum's 81st Birthday today.
(She passed away 26 years ago)
Then out!
Drops off son.
Then off to Stratford Car Boot.
We had to park in the overspill car park.
Spot the Eastenders Characters!
Now to look around....
Here is the conversation I overheard...
Buyer: The view is not nice in this mirror..
Seller: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Buyer:I'm interested in this mirror
Seller:Give me an offer for it
Buyer: There is a bit missing of the mirror, no thanks, and he put the mirror down!
I found another Black eyed Susan vine.
Red flowers on it.
It was only £2.50!
Bargain!
Another look around.
I went past a old Singer Sewing Machine...
It looked good...
Bit the hand's man off for how much it was.
It was heavy, hubby had to swap hands taking it back to the car!
The boot full.
Now off to visit Alcester.
There was no price on anything....
I got a card and balloons for my friend who is 70 today.
We enjoyed a fishcake and chips lunch.
Now to deliver the balloons and card!
He wasn't in, so I tied the balloons to the door handle.
(I'm sure he will be pleased when he came back!)
Back home to unpack the car
&
Have a much needed coffee!
Here is a pictures of before my house and garden looked like 12 years ago, and now.
Now out to get a lucky bag from Morrisons.
Then for tea.
Yummy.
Quick look into today's newspaper.
Windsor Davies  was a Welsh actor whose career in film and television spanned forty years. He is best remembered for playing Battery Sergeant Major Williams in the sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum (1974–1981) over its entire run. The show's popularity resulted in Davies and his co-star Don Estelle achieving a UK number one hit with a version of "Whispering Grass" in 1975. He later starred with Donald Sinden in Never the Twain (1981–1991), and his deep Welsh-accented voice was heard extensively in advertising voice-overs.
He would have been 91 years old 🎈
He sadly died aged 88 in 2019
David Soul (born David Richard Solberg) is a British-American actor and singer. He is known for his role as Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson in the television series Starsky & Hutch from 1975 to 1979; Joshua Bolt on Here Come the Brides from 1968 to 1970; and Officer John Davis in Magnum Force in 1973. In 1977, he scored a number one hit single with "Don't Give Up on Us".
He is 78 years old 🎈

Now for some Sleep Tea...
As normal we carried on watching something on Netflix, and fell asleep!
Upstairs to bed as off to visit another car boot tomorrow!
