Labour Party are pleased to see some information on the contents of the
Town Deal bid - the maximum amount which can be granted is £25 million,
and we hope that Redditch is successful in achieving that maximum
amount.
The bid consists of the following proposals.
£8.5m to improve the train station area with a 2 storey building, open space and improved car parking, taxi rank and bus service area.
£8m for digital support to businesses including a 5G test bed and office / workshop space.
£4.1m to demolish the library building to create a public square. (NOTE - no information on a new location for the library if this is approved.)
£3m to improve Unicorn Hill, Church Green and Evesham Walk - including “street furniture” and “waymarking.”
£1.1m to improve eco projects mostly electric charging points. (This is across residential areas and Abbey Stadium as well as in the town centre.)

Our Library houses the Job Centre, computers, and clubs.
It is our community hub!
